On Sunday, 260 bodies were recovered by a ZAKA response team from the site of a music festival in Israel where Hamas militants opened fire on partygoers during their assault on the country.

According to Israel National News, this brings the death toll to 600 people killed and over 2,000 injured.

One reported missing person who was in attendance at the festival was a 23-year-old American Hersh Goldberg-Polin. He sent a message to his parents that said, "I love you. I'm sorry," as Hamas entered southern Israel.

One festival-goer named Reva told Human Events that the partiers were unaware that the group was moving toward their location until it was too late. "It wasn’t until the first shots and screams that people began to realize something was wrong I think. Nobody noticed them until it was too late. They were right there with us," she said.

“The music didn’t stop right away—I looked at the crowd and some people were still dancing," Reva told the outlet. "There were so many of us and we’d been up all night. Like, I have this memory of knowing I was hearing gunshots really close to me but there was this split second where I almost tried to convince myself it was just part of the set.”

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
